Patient was on topical steroids, and oracea and essential oils and rogaine for 2 months (starting in jan 2016).She started on Help Hair Shake 2 times daily in March 2016. What is central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia?

Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) is a type of alopecia do to scarring on the scalp. In black women it is the most common form of scarring hair loss. It  may be seen in men.

What is the cause of central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia?

There are many causes of CCCA. Use of relaxers,  extensions and weaves, have been shown to cause it.
